If you are interested in learning more about Finley, please go to our adoption page, complete an application, and forward to Kristi at kristi@enchantmutts.org. We will contact you when we receive it.

Meet Finley – this beautiful girl only saw sadness and torment the first 1.5 years of her life. She initially came into our care torn and tattered from a cruelty case. From emaciation, neglect, heartworm, pups (via emergency C-section) and learning to live in a home where she will never be harmed again – Finley has overcome.  She has come a long way in the past six months and is a truly special girl and deserves a truly special home.

Finley is a 2-3 year old pure Australian Shepherd, a beautiful red merle with one of the sweetest dispositions EVER. Though her foster would love to keep her her forever – she has learned that Finley deserves a perfect home where she will be the center of her family’s focus so is willing to find that home for her – nothing less will suit - as hard as it will be to give her up – for the right home she will. Finley is still a puppy at heart (or at least now getting the opportunity to be care-free) and loves to let loose and play with her foster siblings.

Finley loves other dogs, is learning to play with toys – (initially anything with a squeaker sent her running but now we catch her running around with the “fearsome” squeaker toys in her mouth) and is coming out of her shell. She is learning to walk on a leash and is attentive to her people and her disposition – absolutely wonderful. Sweet from day one – she has grown into a very loveable girl who likes to play pranks and loves belly rubs. Where once she did not interact – Finley is learning that she likes being part of a family and will excel with some one-on-one attention where she can reach her potential. While she is active, she is not high energy and enjoys good down time. She still has some shyness issues but is really overcoming that as she learns people are not all bad.

Her perfect family will have another canine companion, either be active retired or work-at-home and a family who consider their dogs as members of their family and takes them everywhere with them. She would like an active family – she needs to lose a few pounds after her heartworm treatment and having pups and adores going for walks. We prefer working dog experience – specifically with Aussies. Finley likes kids but we prefer no kids under 10 – it would have to be a special circumstance.

Finley is spayed, UTD on shots, microchipped, house, doggie door and crate trained (though she is no longer crated) and on heartworm prevention. She is a good passenger in a car (no back seat driver here) and is always excited to try a new adventure. She has gone through heartworm treatment and will need to have one more heartworm test to make sure we got them all (in December). But we are sure we did – just want to make sure.

So if you are looking for an absolutely beautiful, wonderful girl who is incredibly gentle and just wants to live a good life and can offer Finley a fabulous forever home – follow our adoption process on our website.
