Meet Portia – this little lion dog is quite a hoot! Just a pup and learning the ropes – Portia is a smart little girl who thinks she walks on water even at 4 months (we are putting her birthday at April 1, 2017).

Portia is a pretty little Pomeranian girl who has quite the personality and if people are familiar with this breed – they know that they are actually ferocious lions in a tiny body. They have attitude and are quite loyal and love (and deserve) the devotion of their family. Portia loves rides in the cars so she can survey her kingdom and even likes to be brushed – as prissy as she can be…. she is still quite the tomboy.

Portia is working on her house training and we will not teach her the doggy door (too small to be unsupervised outside alone). She loves to be the boss and thinks that she is the princess of the ball and quite often she is. Weighing in at a whopping 4.5 lbs – we expect her to reach 6 lbs as she matures. As with any Pomeranian – she packs a punch and deserves to be cuddled and admired. But – she most certainly holds her own with all the other dogs in the house – even the 70 lb. ones! She adores her toys and thinks they are all hers and will often run though the house to find a spot where she can stuff them and hide them so no one will find them and that includes tennis balls! And if someone steals one from her “stash” – watch out!

Portia’s list of must haves in her forever family include a furry canine companion or two, lots of treats, lots of cuddles, an ice maker, a soft bed and to be treated as the princess she is. Unfortunately human kids under ten are not on her list. Her foster’s list of must haves includes a family that is familiar with Pomeranians and enjoy a dog with tons of attitude.

Portia will be spayed at the appropriate time (and covered in her adoption fee), is microchipped, up to date on shots, heartworm negative and on preventative. Her adoption fee is $200 and she will NOT be adopted out of the state of New Mexico. For more information and to start our adoption process – please go to the previous page and click on adoption process - complete an application and submit it to Kristi@enchantmutts.org.
