Are you looking for a special boy? Meet Zeke. This character has a story to tell for sure. And what a story. You will laugh, you will cry and in the end you will know Zeke for who he is, a fabulous dog patiently waiting for his soul mate and his forever family. He has such huge potential for anything, but he would really like a family, some fun and a job! Smart, playful, obedient, full of fun and guaranteed to bring a smile to your face, that's Zeke. He is a very sensitive boy and you can read every expression on his face. He does a great impression of Puss In Boots holding his hat in his paws, with his eyes real wide, ears back . . . (Antonio Banderas eat your heart out!) and he wears his emotions on his sleeve for all to see and has a wonderful grin when he is chagrined!

Zeke is a two year old Border Collie cross born 3/31/2010. His mom is a purebred Black and White BC and he and his two siblings were taken into rescue at 8 months old. They are all special dogs and of them all, Zeke is the most loving and sweet of the bunch. He absolutely loves toys, loves to play and most of all loves to please. He likes being put to the test and running through all his paces and certainly appreciates good quality cuddle time. He has gotten all the doggy tricks down and then some and is starting in basic agility training where he is doing well (he just adores it!) and he does well on a leash. He is a beautiful dog and his smooth coat is like silk. Lean and trim and weighing in at a whopping 40 lbs., Zeke runs like a gazelle and is able to leap tall buildings in a single bound . . . ok . . . but he can leap shorter bushes on his first try! Zeke just doesn't miss a trick and he loves other dogs and even likes cats!

Zeke needs his family close and he also needs a doggie companion (and perhaps a kitty or two) so he doesn't get lonely. He is an active boy who needs a family who is familiar with working dogs and that have an active lifestyle with lots of exercise and interaction. This is no back yard dog (he'll learn to pick the lock to the house) but a family member. He would really prefer a family that works at home or is home frequently. Zeke is a shadow dog and is happiest when his family is in his line of sight. Dog savvy older kids are a plus for him but please, no kids under 7.

Zeke is up to date on shots, neutered, micro-chipped, heartworm negative and on preventative, and house-trained.
